Description Ivan Zakharyaschev 2011-11-28 18:54:30 MSK
A suggestion for how the LiveCDs are booted: mount the disk devices found during the system startup only read-only. For safeness.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #26646 +++

I've been using the live system from Simply Linux 6.0.1RC2 DVD. I've noticed that the hard disks of the computer (that are found additionally during the boot) are mounted read-write.

For more safeness, the additional partitions found at boot time could be initially mounted read-only (not to destroy anything already present on this computer).

Then, perhaps, there could be a menu entry in Thunar to remount them read-write -- for those users who don't know commands like "mount -o rmount,rw " and wish to use only the GUI.

I don't mount them at all, and find the rw vs ro tradeoff debatable at best.
